Antonio ‘Nono’ Lopez has been an instrumental part of Almunecar City 23’s rise up the 2nd Andaluza Senior (Granada).
The winger has played in every game so far this season, as Ivan Moya’s side remain unbeaten after four games (three wins and two draws) and occupy second place in the league.
Proving a threat for opposition defences, Nono sits at the top of the goalscorers chart with five goals, including an opening day hattrick against CD Union Deportiva Castell. As well as finding the back of the net he is a creative spark, laying off chances for his team mates and also working hard defensively out of possession to help ensure his team keep a clean sheet, which they have on three occasions this season.
Despite Lopez's fine form Head Coach, Ivan Moya, is keeping his squads feet firmly on the ground as they prepare for their next game against Otura CF, hoping they can continue their unbeaten start to the season.
Moya did however comment on the significance of his teams most recent victory by saying "This type of game decides if we stay in our position near the top of the league table or if another team takes our place and it was a derby, so it was important for the club that we won."
"We had worked hard in training all week and it showed in the game, so I am very happy with the victory."
