Congratulations to FC Malaga City Academy graduate Martin Mapisa who has joined Tercera División club Zamora CF from Velez CF.
Martin, a 21-year-old goalkeeper, joined the academy in 2018 from Aces Youth Soccer Academy (AYSA) in Zimbabwe and has risen to prominence since.
The 6'3" giant has been capped numerous times by his native Zimbabwe at youth and senior levels and was scouted by a number of La Liga and Segunda División clubs in recent seasons.
Zamora CF are a historic club based in the autonomous community of Castile and León with an 8,000 capacity stadium.
Coached by David Movilla, the team sit comfortably top of the league table after 21 games collecting 20 wins and 1 draw.
George Jermy, Academy Director, commented: "Seeing stories like Martin Mapisa's remind us why we started this academy.
We're so proud to have helped Martin in his journey and it's a huge moment for him to move onto Zamora CF, a huge Spanish club who are breaking records this season in Tercera División.
At just 21, Martin is still incredibly young for a goalkeeper and we believe this is just the beginning of a long and successful career in Europe."
