Winger Bradley Booysen described CD Almuñecar City’s season as ‘frustrating’, but is optimistic that the side can finish the campaign positively.
CD Almuñecar City are sat in third place in the relegation play-offs, though are unbeaten in five of their last six games - and face Aguilas de Zujaira on Sunday afternoon.
Booysen started the match last weekend, as Juan Carlos Añon’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Salar.
“The loss last weekend was hugely disappointing,” he admitted.
“As a group, we were determined to win that game and continue our positive momentum.
“It has been a difficult season in many aspects, but over the past few games we have regained our form and shown the quality we know we are capable of.
“We are a very young team, so the addition of a few more experienced heads has really helped us.
“We must continue working and believing in what we are trying to achieve.
“Tomorrow’s game provides another opportunity for us to bounce back, and we can’t wait to put on a show in front of our supporters.”
The South African has suffered an injury-hit season, but is determined to come back stronger than ever and end the season on a high.
“For me, personally, this season has been frustrating because of my injury.
“I’m really privileged to be here and determined to showcase my talent and get a consistent run of games.
“I’m grateful to the coaching staff and management for continuing to show their faith in me.
“We’re building a great team and, for the ones who are staying here next season, we are already focused on promotion and competing in the higher leagues.
“I know that if I keep my head down and continue working hard, I will achieve my personal goals.”
