Dabinett 'Positive' Ahead of Dinamo Guadalajara Friendly

Goalkeeper Olivia Dabinett believes there were “a lot of positives" to take from their last game - as FC Malaga City Femenino take on Dinamo Guadalajara in their second and final game of their Madrid Tour.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper has been a regular for FC Malaga City Femenino so far this season, and started against CD Getafe earlier in the week.

Dinamo Guadalajara currently sit 12th in their respective league – and Dabinett believes the girls have an “opportunity” to execute what the coaches have worked on.

“There was a lot for us to take away from the Getafe game both on an individual and team level,” Dabinett said.

“It allowed us to realise what we need to work on and execute better in future games.

“The game today will give us the opportunity to execute what the coaches have been emphasising in training and in film sessions.

“I hope we can carry out the technical and tactical aspects we have been focusing on throughout the past couple of weeks.”

Being one of the youngest players in the squad, Dabinett admits she is learning and growing on and off the pitch from the players around her.

The former Connecticut FC player also believes the atmosphere that has been created is a positive one and that everyone in the team is “eager” to win every game.

“I’d say this season has gone pretty well so far," she continued.

“Everyone on the team is eager to improve and win games, which creates a very intense atmosphere on the pitch.

“Personally, this intensity, as well as the leadership put forth by the older girls, has helped me grow as a person and player here.”

You can watch Olivia and her FC Malaga City Femenino teammates LIVE in action this evening - against Dinamo Guadalajara at 19:00 (GMT +1).
