Youssouf Cisse shared his delight, as CD Almuñecar City made it three games unbeaten - with a 2-0 win on the road against Otura CF.
The Malian forward found the net twice in the second half, and revealed he and his teammates are “delighted” to pick up all three points.
“We are all really happy to get the victory, and I am of course very pleased to score two goals,” he said.
“As a forward, it is my job to score goals - so I am very happy that I could do that today.
“It wasn’t a perfect performance from the team, but we did what we needed to do to get the win.
“We dominated the opponent defensively, and we carried out our attacking plan - being efficient in possession.
“We are a young group and are always learning. I think we are improving every game, and the recent results show that.”
Cisse admitted the team are disappointed with their current league position, but are equally determined to climb up the table in the second half of the season.
“We are fifth in the table, which we are not happy with and there is a lot of room for improvement.
“We have had some great results since returning from the Winter break, and are starting to gel more as a group.
“It is no secret that we are aiming for the play-off spots, and today’s result moves us one step closer.
“We will take it game-by-game, and keep working hard to prepare the best we can for matches.
“As a team, we are wanting to win a trophy this season - and make everybody at the academy proud.
“We know that our rivals and other teams have the same goal as us, so must we work harder than them to achieve it.”
