Kwinda 'Emotional' After Scoring Late Equaliser For #FCMC Senior

FC Málaga City winger Kwinda admitted scoring a late equaliser against Atlético Club Fuengirola was “emotional” - as he marked his return from injury in the 2-2 draw.

Maxime Oliveri guided a header home to draw #FCMC level in the first-half, after Fuengirola took the lead inside the opening three minutes.

It looked to be heartbreak on the road again for Adrián Domínguez’s team after conceding in the 91st-minute, but Kwinda struck home off the post to spark jubilant celebrations.

The 20-year-old had been out on the sideline with injury for six weeks and marked his return to the side with a goal, which secured an important point on the road. Kwinda admitted his emotions were running high after the ball hit the back of the net.

“It was quite emotional for me,” he said. “I’m very happy to score that goal because I’ve just come back from a six-week injury, so I was happy to get back onto the pitch.

“My emotions were flowing, but I was happy to get a point and we move on now.

He continued: “It was three or four times that we hit the post. We’ve been training really well, we’ve been finishing in training and we just need to implement it into the game.”

“For the team it was very important and I’m just happy I could help the team, especially scoring in the last minute of the game. That was very important, but I feel we could’ve converted the chances we had, but I’m happy to get the point.” #FCMC move four points clean at the top of Primera Andaluza (Málaga) after the point on the road, having played a game more than second-place CD Mijas.

With six games remaining, the team are in a good position to hold on to that top spot and Kwinda believes the team should be aiming for promotion, but also to not drop any more points in those games.

The winger said: “Our aim is to get promoted this season and I think that we need to aim, from this moment onwards, to not drop any points. It was unfortunate to drop points (against Fuengirola), but we should be up there.

“We’ve been far superior to teams on multiple occasions, so I think that, from here onwards, it should be three points every week.”
