Maganda Aiming For Play-Offs With #CDAC U23s

CD Almuñecar City U23s forward Arnold Maganda is hoping for a “big push” from the team - as they enter the final six games of the season.

Juanma Bullejos’ side are sat fifth in the table, picking up two wins, three draws and three defeats - from their opening eight league games.

Maganda revealed that the group are aiming for a play-off position, and is confident that the side can begin picking up more points.

“At the moment, the season is going relatively well. We are playing confidently as a team, and have a great group of players - with a real team spirit,” he said.

“We are sat in fifth position in the table, which is a good foundation to build upon - as we go into the business end of the season.

“We are fighting for that top-four play-off position - and are determined and focused as a group to achieve it.

“If I am being honest, I think a team with our quality should be sitting towards the top end of the table.

“For the final six games of the season, we are going to continue to work hard and fight - so that we give ourselves the best opportunity of getting something from each game.”

CD Almuñecar City U23s had a rest week last week, which Maganda believed “was important”, following the winter break.

“The rest week has been really beneficial to us as a team, especially after the winter break,” he added.

“I think for some of us coming back from Christmas - we might have been a little bit rusty, so this week has allowed us to reset and get ready for an important period of games.

“We have spent a lot of time together off the pitch, where we have identified our strengths and looked at where we need to improve as a team.

“We are like a family off the pitch, and a really close group of players - which is important for any successful team.”

Maganda netted his second of the season in the team’s last game, against Arenas de Armilla - and the striker is hoping for many more before the end of the season.

“It was really good to get my second goal of the season last time out,” he continued.

“I am feeling confident, and will keep working hard for the team and keep trying to score goals. “I back my own ability, and am confident that if my teammates put the ball in the right areas - which they have been doing - then I can finish them off.”
