CD Almuñecar City U23s defender Jack Mongey lauded his team’s efforts, as they aim to finish their league campaign twelve games unbeaten this weekend.
Juanma Bullejos’ side have won seven matches in a row, and are unbeaten in eleven - as they sit top of their league with one game remaining.
Mongey, who came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace and Luton Town, has been a regular fixture for the team.
“The run we have been on has been great,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for the team and for the club to go 11 games unbeaten.
“The team has been performing week in, week out - and working hard everyday, so it is fully deserved.
“It’s now down to us to keep that run going and finish the league season on a high against Montefrio tomorrow.”
The 20-year-old Englishman joined FC Malaga City Academy at the start of the season, and feels he has learnt a lot during his time in Spain.
“My first season in Spain has been great and I’ve enjoyed the whole experience,” he continued.
“I feel I have developed lots as a player during my time here, and have learnt a lot about playing in a more senior environment.
“My long term goal is to break through into the professional game - and to carry on developing and learning.”
