Ogunnubi Frustrated By Ciudad de Baza Draw

CD Almuñecar City striker Emmanuel Ogunnubi shared his disappointment, as his side let a two-goal advantage go to waste against Ciudad de Baza at the weekend.

The Nigeria-native netted for Juan Carlos Añon's side in the 18th minute with a fine-low strike from inside the box - and revealed he was pleased to get on the scoresheet.

“It was a fantastic feeling to score in our home stadium with all my family and friends watching on the internet,” he said.

“We've had a difficult time in front of goal as a team, so I was happy to finally get one and silence some of my teammates who have been giving me a tough time!”

Ogunnubi believed his side deserved to pick up all three points, and is hoping the disappointment the team are feeling will drive them to do better in future weeks.

“We played well as a team for large parts of the game,” he continued.

“It hurts to not come away with a win, but hopefully it motivates us more for the next match.

“As a group, our goal is to try and win the remainder of our games - so we can be in the best possible position going into next season.”
