Ratcliffe Optimistic Ahead Of Getafe CF Clash

Canadian goalkeeper Jake Ratcliffe revealed #FCMC U19s are feeling “confident” ahead of their upcoming fixture against Getafe CF.

FC Malaga City U18s and U19s will go head-to-head with the Madrid-based club in a double-header on Saturday 8th May.

“As a group, we are feeling confident about our upcoming game against Getafe,” he said.

“We’ve analyzed and learned a lot from our game against Atlético de Madrid - as a lot of their habits in the game were ones we practice and strive to perfect in our game as well.

“The Getafe game will be a great test to see how well we can apply changes to our game in order to get the best out of our performance.”

Ratcliffe is enjoying his first full season with FC Malaga City Academy, and revealed he is learning a lot both on and off the field.

“My time here at FC Malaga City Academy has been great and I have improved my game massively,” he continued.

“The environment here has exposed me to a large variety of game-scenarios, which allowed me to discover weaknesses in my game I didn’t know existed.

“This has been crucial in helping me to develop, and by fixing those weaknesses, I have become a better goalkeeper than I was when I first got here last year.

“I don’t really set myself any long-term goals. I much prefer to focus on my performance and improving myself as much as possible - and if I am good enough, the opportunities will be there.”
