CD Almuñecar City U23s captain Will Robinson insists there is “room for improvement” - following his side’s defeat to Arenas de Armilla.
The side, who fielded 11 different nationalities, lost 3-2 at Rio Verde - with all three goals conceded coming from crosses from out wide.
Robinson admitted that defending set-pieces and balls into the box is an area that the team have struggled with so far this season.
He said: "The main problem with our game has been conceding from set-pieces, and not capitalising on our chances.
“Throughout the whole season, crosses and set-pieces have not been our strong point - both offensively and defensively.
“As a team - we can not expect to win games, when we can not keep clean sheets.”
Despite defeat, the skipper was impressed with the team’s attacking play - and insisted there are positives to draw from the performance.
“I thought we moved the ball quite nicely - getting into some good areas, and we were unlucky to not capitalise on our chances,” he added.
“We are doing very well to put balls into the box and keep cycling the ball - but there is of course always room for improvement.
“We have a rest week next week leading up to a busy run of games - so it will be good to get out onto the training pitch to keep building on positive aspects of our game, and focus on our weaknesses.”
