FC Malaga City Under 19s defender Elijah Smith is feeling “confident" ahead of this evening's meeting with La Liga club Cadiz CF.
Sean Morris' team will come up against Cadiz CF 'C' at 19:30 this evening, a team who compete in the Spanish senior leagues - and have just gained promotion - with their 2002 players.
Smith revealed that he and his teammates are “excited", and will take confidence from their previous La Liga meeting, where they came out 1-0 winners over Getafe CF.
“Everyone amongst the squad is really excited to have the opportunity to play against a La Liga club," he said.
“They will be a good side who will be more experienced and, by the looks of it, know how to win.
“We have to minimise our defensive mistakes and be clinical in attack with every opportunity we get.
“I have confidence in the team.
“We are a very strong group and, after the Getafe game, we know that we have the ability to beat big teams."
The Canadian defender joined FC Malaga City Academy at the beginning of the season, and was quickly signed by professional side CD Estepona.
“My first season in Spain has been amazing," he added.
“I have improved immensely from the start of the year.
“Signing for CD Estepona has been a great experience.
“Playing in a Spanish environment in a competitive format has been very enjoyable and I have learnt a lot.
“To have the ability to represent a Tercera División Juvenil team is something I am very proud of.”
